Better Day

Just find a chair and sit yourself down
Cast your mind back to times gone past
Where steam trains went so fast
To every town and halt
No need to drive or take a test
Just sit back and have a rest
Were houses don't cost the earth
Far more then what they are worth
Were people you meet
Say hello how are you
In the street
A place were you work to live
A 40 hour week
Not live to work your life away
Where we once had jobs for life
And council houses too
Not so long ago in a better day.
